有球迷猜测韩国队可能主动选择回收防守战术，但是韩国队主帅白基泰赛后则否认了这一看法。
白基泰：“事实上，我并没有选择防守战术，也没有要求队员去重点防守，我们韩国足球的哲学就是更进攻性，快速进攻。我当然按照韩国足球哲学去要求我的球员。
“今天比赛踢得很难，而且，中国队今天比赛中采取高压紧逼的踢法，对我们的防守线造成了很大的压力。我个人觉得中国队的队员今天要比我们好，无论是身体方面还是个人技术的方面。所以，从现在开始，我需要重点去训练我的球员，无论是身体方面还是技术方面。”
