7月24日据《东方体育日报》报道，足协邀请四位足坛老将与伊万科维奇会面，为18强赛出谋划策。
今天下午，中国足协特别邀请了徐根宝、李英发、金志扬、容志行四位中国足球老将，与中国足球队现任外籍主教练伊万科维奇及部分国足教练组成员进行了会面。为接下来的18强赛做准备。
宋凯告诉现场的几位老战友，希望他们能够多去现场，最好每场比赛都能观看，为球队加油，继续为教练组提供建议。
会后，中国足协主席宋凯在办公室会见了来自上海、将率队征战2024年首届全国青年运动会和2025年全运会的徐根宝。
